Ingredients:
- Flank steak, skirt steak or flat iron
- Broccoli
- Ginger
- Garlic
- Baking Soda
- Corn Starch
- Oil
- Soy sauce
- Dark Soy sauce
- Oyster sauce
- Chicken Broth
- Sesame Oil
- White Pepper
- Sugar
- Shaoxing Cooking Wine
Marinate Sauce for Beef Flank:
- Garlic
- Ginger
- 1/2 tsp Baking soda
- 1 tbsp Corn Starch
- 1 tbsp Oil (Vegetable, Cannoli)
- 1 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Oyster Sauce
Pre-mix sauce for cooking:
- 1 cup of Chicken Broth
- 1/4 cup of Brown Sugar (or white sugar)
- 1 tbsp of Sesame Oil
- 1 tbsp of Oyster Sauce
- 2 tbsp of Dark Soy Sauce
- 2 tbsp of Low Sodium Soy Sauce
- White pepper (or Black pepper)
Cooking Instructions:
- For the most flavor – let the beef marinate for 30 minutes in the fridge.
- While the meat marinates, prepare the broccoli, minced garlic and ginger.
- On medium heat, add oil to a pan, and swirl to coat the bottom.
- Spread the steak in a single layer onto the pan. Once it is lightly charred, flip to cook the other side.
- Remove the meat from the pan, and set it aside.
- Add garlic and ginger to the pan. Stir a few times to release flavor.
- Add broccoli to the pan, pre-made cooking sauce mix, 2 tbsp of shaoxing cooking wine, and 1 tbsp of corn starch. Stir and cook until sauce thickens.
- Transfer to plate and enjoy with steamed rice!
